Your FREE Cardstock Models of MONITOR and MERRIMAC(K, CSS VIRGINIA)
... For you to Build and Keep
(Photos coming soon.)
Suggestions:
1:240 -- 20 ft. per inch, produces a MONITOR about 9 inches/22.5 cms.
Use the 100' length indicator as a guide.
(The Scale Selector distance should be 5 inches.)
Also, begin by building the gun turret rather than the hull ...
making as many tries as necessary until you are satisfied.
- General Instructions, 13Feb97 for constructing cardstock model warships.
(Suggestions for changes and additions are always welcome.)
- Simple Game Rules for having a battle between the MONITOR and MERRIMAC(K, CSS VIRGINIA) in your classroom or on your living room floor, at home. -- IN PROGRESS
- NOTE/STRONGLY SUGGESTED: Download the following ship plan files and bring them back up with an independent viewer. Printing them directly off of Netscape cuts off most of the drawings, for some reason. Then enlarge/reduce the drawings (as scale requires) onto the cardstock from which you intend to construct your model. Use blue cardstock for the MONITOR and dark gray cardstock for MERRIMAC(K, CSS VIRGINIA).
- A Brief History of the Battle between the MONITOR and MERRIMAC, with bibliography -- IN PROGRESS.
