SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS for the JOHN C. BUTLER Class Destroyer Escort. IN PROGRESS (10 Apr 98) The most important thing to remember is: When gluing the deck to the hull you have to be *sure* that the "flush deck" is glued fore and aft, along the top of the longitudinal bulkhead, before gluing it to the hull sides ... otherwise it is almost impossible to get it right. The forward superstructure is a challenge. Be sure to cut out the little cleft in its front, for the tub for the forward 40mm antiaircraft guns' gun director. Also, remember that the deck curves up, toward the bow, when you scissor out the underside of the foredeck.
